Post-Doctoral Researcher
Syed Asad Alam is a post-doctoral research fellow in the discipline of Software and Systems, School of Computer Science and Statistics, Trinity College Dublin, The University of Dublin and is also a member of Lero. He has a keen interest in learning new things, specially related to computer science and engineering. A VLSI, embedded systems and machine learning enthusiast currently working towards the quantization of neural networks for resource constrained embedded devices
Dr. Alam has around 4 years experience of teaching and research and more than 10 years of experience in architecture design, optimization, analysis, implementation and verification of digital systems, including digital signal processing systems and deep learning based machine learning systems on FPGAs, ASICs and embedded devices. Diversifying research career by working on quantization of deep convolution neural networks. Author of three peer reviewed journal publications and five international conference publications.
Previously he has been Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Namal Institute Mianwali, Pakistan. He completed his PhD and MSc from Linköping University, Sweden in 2016 and 2010, respectively and B.E. in Computer and Information Systems Engineering from N.E.D. University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan in 2007.
