Dr. Sarah Foley is a Lecturer in the School of Applied Psychology, University College Cork. She has an undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology and graduated with an Irish Research Council funded PhD from UCC in February 2020. In her research, Sarah employs qualitative research methods in the field of Human-Computer Interaction to examine the role of technology and design in care contexts. Her PhD research examined the role of technology to enhance social relationships in dementia care, resulting in a series of publications on co-design with people with dementia in care. She is currently (2021) working on research examining the role of technology to support older people’s interactions with nature (SFI Funded) and examining the purpose of care in HCI frameworks for the design of technology (NUI Award Holder).
