I received a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Limerick in 2004, and an MSc In Biomedical Engineering from the University of Limerick in 2005.
I received a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2011. The focus of my research was the relationship between blood pressure and cerebral blood flow in humans, and I have several journal publications, a patent and a number of conference presentations in this area.
From 2011 to 2022 I worked in Valeo Vision Systems as a Vision Research Engineer focusing on Image Quality. My main research focus is on high dynamic range imaging, LED flicker, topview harmonization algorithms, and the relationship between image quality and machine vision. Since 2014 I have been an official Valeo Expert on Image Quality. I have multiple patents relating to automotive image quality, and have presented at a number of conferences.
In 2022 I joined the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at NUI Galway as a Lecturer and Researcher.
