Prof. John J. Carey is a physician in rheumatology and medicine at Galway University Hospitals, and Professor in Medicine at University of Galway, Ireland. Prof. Carey completed his undergraduate training in University College Dublin, Ireland, and his post-graduate training in medicine, rheumatology and clinical research in Dublin (Ireland), and Boston (USA) and Cleveland (USA). He is past-president of The International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD), current president of The Irish DXA Society, a member of International Osteoporosis Foundation’s Committee for Scientific Affairs and The European Calcified Tissue Society’s Clinical Action Group. His research focusses on big data, imaging, reality and evidence-based medicine.
