Dr Pat Doody holds a PhD in mathematics relating to artificial intelligence (AI), is a senior lecturer and researcher in The School of Science and Computing. Pat co-founded the centres for innovation in distributed systems and led the wireless and mobility research group (forerunners of IMaR). Areas of expertise include AutoID technologies, wireless technologies, intelligent knowledge discovery, data mining, and application of artificial intelligence based neural network algorithms and quality of voice systems. He directs RFID and Internet of Things research within IMaR, manages EU-funded projects in related areas and in addition supervises several MSc/PhD candidates working in the area of AI.
