Lero was one of the winners of the 2015 Google RISE Awards. The Google RISE programme is designed to support organisations that encourage girls and underrepresented students in extracurricular computer science programmes. 

During June and July summer camps for girls will be hosted by Lero. The first camp took place between 17th-19th June with over 20 girls participating. They were introduced to software programming and development and were by the end of the event able to write their own programme for robots!
