Jane is the Director of the mHealth Research Group and the Co-Leader of the Health and Wellbeing Cluster in the Whitaker Institute (NUI Galway). Her research is focused on ‘Health Behaviours for Healthy Ageing’ with a focus on how innovative technologies can be used to enhance health and wellbeing.  

Jane has recently been awarded funding in excess of €6 million euro from the European Commission (H2020) to conduct research on personalised technological interventions for healthy ageing. She is a recognised expert in mobile technology and health behaviour change and is regularly invited to give keynotes on this topic.

Jane is an Associate Editor of the journal Psychology and Health and on the Editorial Board for International Journal of Behavioural Medicine and the British Journal of Health Psychology. She is former Chair of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI)  Division of Health Psychology and is an active member of the European Health Psychology Society. Jane also serves on the Research Advisory Board for the Irish Cancer Society.
