Lenka Krpalkova
Post-Doctoral Researcher
Dr Lenka Krpalkova is a Postdoctoral Researcher at IMaR (Intelligent Mechatronics and RFID) Technology Gateway, based within the STEM school at Munster Technological University, Tralee. She has been involved in the research and education area for over 10 years. She completed her PhD in 2014 at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (CULS). Her master's program focused mainly on breeding cattle and on evaluating and determining breeding values and selection indexes. The PhD studies dealt mainly with optimum replacement decisions in dairy herds and dairy herd economics. Her work experience includes the position of data analyst and consultant in the agricultural industry. She participated in many internships abroad (Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, USA), always focusing on agriculture. Her research interests include dairy technologies, Big data analytics, application of artificial intelligence, machine learning algorithms, and software development. In addition to her professional qualification, Lenka started the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme coordinated by Lero, the Irish Software Research Centre in February 2020. Her career goal is to improve her knowledge of the aforementioned areas and focus on enhancing farming systems with maintaining good and healthy environment and animals.
