Sean Harkin

Sean is a PhD candidate at University, Galway and member of the Agri-Technology research team.
Sean graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic and Computer Engineering from NUI Galway in 2020. Continuing from work in his final year project, he began a PhD backed by Lero and a local agricultural machinery manufacturer to research and develop a Driver Assistance Framework for Efficient Operation of Towed Implement Agricultural Machinery in forage harvesting.
The aim of the project is to assist agricultural machinery operators, improving their productivity and in-turn, improving machinery efficiency. Sean’s research involves using novel sensing and data analytics to deliver functional and commercially feasible solutions in agricultural technology and machinery.
