Rajkumar Sarma
Post-Doctoral Researcher
Rajkumar Sarma is working as a Post-doctoral researcher at the University of Limerick under Automatic Design of Digital Circuits (ADDC) project. He receives his Ph.D degrees from Lovely Professional University, Punjab, India in the year 2020.
He is currently working on a Science Foundation of Ireland (SFI) funded project to generate VHDL/Verilog code for digital circuit design and apply it to the creation of different IP Blocks, specifically FIR and FFT filter. His research interests include (but not limited to) Analog and Digital VLSI design, Low power architecture design, Quantum Cellular Automata, Prototype development using FPGA etc. His recent (or ongoing) research work consists of the design of efficient Multiply-Accumulate (MAC) architecture which has compatibility with IEEE half-precision & single-precision floating-point inputs. The architecture primarily consists an efficient multiplier, signed/unsigned MAC & fixed/floating-point MAC design. Dr. Sarma has expertise in various Cadence tools such as Virtuoso, Assura, NC-SIM, RTL compiler etc. He is also skilled with Xilinx ISE/Vivado tools for FPGA prototyping on 7 series FPGA boards.
The researcher has around 20+ research publications in SCI, Scopus indexed & other reputed Journals along with national/international conferences. Moreover, the author has 15+ patents published in various engineering fields. Dr. Sarma has also published two books on Hardware Description Language (HDL) & FPGA prototyping.
